Stump grinding uses a specialist machine to grind the stump down below ground level, removing it completely and leaving the area ready for replanting or landscaping. It is faster and less disruptive than full stump excavation.
We typically grind stumps to around 150–300mm below ground level, which is sufficient for laying turf or replanting. We can go deeper if required.
The grinding process produces wood chip mulch which can be left for use in your garden as a mulch or path covering, or removed from site at an additional cost — whichever you prefer.
Most stumps can be ground. Access is the main consideration — our machines need sufficient space to reach the stump. We’ll assess access when we visit to quote.
